Dr. Rameshwar Pranela Rameshwar

Dr. Rameshwar is a Professor of Medicine, Division of Hematology-Oncology, Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. She received a B.S. degree in medical microbiology from the University of Wisconsin - Madison and a Ph.D. degree in biology from Rutgers University, New Jersey. Her training continued as a postdoctoral fellow to study neural-hematopoietic regulation at Rutgers. Dr. Rameshwar’s research is translational with specific interest is hematopoiesis, breast cancer dormancy, aging and human mesenchymal stem cells. The Rameshwar laboratory has authored over 200 publications, which include original manuscripts, invited reviews and book chapters. Dr. Rameshwar has edited several books. She is the recipient of numerous awards. Dr. Rameshwar is also involved in education and is a Master Educator. She has developed four graduate courses in stem cell. Dr. Rameshwar gives numerous scientific presentations both nationally and internationally.

Professor of Medical Technology (Dept. of Medical Sciences and Translational Medicine, University of Rome Tor Vergata) and temporary Member of the Academic body of the IM Sechenov First Medical University of Moscow (Russia). Incumbent Director of the Centre of Regenerative Medicine, University of Rome Tor Vergata. Cardiologist with extensive experience in basic and applied sciences in different Italian and foreign laboratories. Founder of the Laboratory of Cellular and Molecular Cardiology in Rome has also contributed to establish other laboratories in Japan, Canada and Russia. Major scientific interests: (i) Cellular and Molecular Mechanisms of Myocardial Diseases and (ii) Cardiac Tissue Engineering. In the Di Nardo’s Lab patches of human myocardium are experimentally fabricated encompassing intensive investigation in the biomaterial field. Author of numerous papers on peer-reviewed journals and Member of the Editorial Board of International Journals and Editor of journal special issues, books and book series.
